I posted a poll. Don’t know if it has enough selections…

I take my meds because being deluded and locked up isn’t an alternative.

Meds work for a lot of people. But, I think the number one reason some people don’t take them is that that side-effects are too brutal… Which is understandable. I tried to reduce them this summer so I could improve my blood sugar, because I’m certain the AP, Abilify, caused my diabetes.

I am in my opinion on the best ap in the world…generic prolixin…fluphenazine…10 mg twice a day…keeps me so stable and no sexual side effects…love it…no ward for me thank you.

I’m glad you found something that works. Diabetes can cause all kinds of complications for me…blindness, amputation, heart problems. So, it would have been nice if I could tolerate the lower dose of my AP, but the noise sensitivity drove me nuts after a month. I could try again maybe if I bought musicians earplugs.

I think that antipshycotics are chemical lobotomy and should be illegal. I think the psychiatric system has made me a drug addict against my will. I would have never accepted it in the first place had I known the side effects and the withdrawal symptoms. And now I can’t quit.

@anon55055794 that sounds like you’re already against taking your remaining ap’s and it saddens me greatly. You are schizophrenic and you need your ap’s…just like when you get the flu you take medicine for it…you have an illness which without meds could cause you permanent brain damage. or you could in psychosis possibly take your life…please, please, please take your ap’s in higher doses like the hospital gave you.

I rather be on APS then locked away, If much better treatments are develop in the future then APS should only be used in severe cases.

To be quite honestly I’m on 500 mgs Clopixol Depot every 3 week and 700 mg Qutiapine. Yes they are lobotomy and straitjackets in the amounts I take. But they really feel pleasant. They make me a psychotic, calm, quiet, anxious free and thought empty headed. Most people ask me how I can live this way. The answers I always give is that I don’t commit any crimes and I got my freedom and that I don’t take any kind of narcotics or alcohol.
So well I’ve put myself into a chemical straitjacket to protect myself and my surroundings from any kind of harmful impulses a psychosis may cause.

I believe in taking antipsychotics. They work! Zyprexa has been a miracle for me. I won’t stop taking it. I never want to end up in a ■■■■■■■ state hospital ever again.

Wow that is amazing how different drugs can affect different people. Zyprexa ruined my life. I will kill myself before taking that again

When I get psychotic I stop sleeping. Luckily meds do help.

Yes but only as PrN

Why don’t you take them?

@anon55055794 maybe not now you aren’t psychotic…but it’s only a very short distance you’ve been without ap’s…don’t wait until you have to go back to the ward…please consult your pdoc about what med level you should be on.
