You probably will get back pay if they approve you.

So your claim was denied, and now you’re appealing with a lawyer? Yes, if you win your appeal you’ll get paid retroactively to when your claim was filed.

Thanks I was really wondering what the answer to that question was haha

Sorry to tell you but Herr Trump is trying to change the law to where you might get half the back pay or very little. Just what I heard. But I’m just a Skunk so don’t worry too much. :innocent:

@ThePickinSkunk I didn’t find anything to back up what you said. Where did you hear this?

Saw it on Yahoo news. Probably more speculation than anything. Sorry OP didn’t mean to make you worry.

IDK about the present rules of backpay but I had a friend back in the 1980’s who first applied for benefits in 1978 and didn’t get awarded until 1984. He got a backpay check for $25,000. He bought two cars and spent a thousand or two on the best Craftsman tool chest he could find and just about every tool you could think of (he liked to work on cars).

He was into radio control model airplanes so he bought a few of those. He was a funny guy. He was a Mormon but he was like the worst Mormon ever, lol. Mormon aren’t supposed to smoke or drink or chase women but he did all those things and a few other vices.

Bad temper though. We were sharing a house and he lent me his ATM card to go withdraw $75.00 for groceries one night because I was broke and I withdrew $200.00 instead and didn’t come back for three days. I had met a hooker and her boyfriend and I we spent most of the money on crack, heroin and powder cocaine.

I finally came home exhausted and he was furious. He told me that not only had reported me to the police in three different cities so they were all keeping an eye out for me but he sat in a chair in the living room for two days waiting for me to walk in the door so he could shoot me. He got tired of waiting around and his anger kind of dissipated. Nice guy though otherwise. We were still friends for awhile but we eventually lost touch and someone told me years later the poor guy had committed suicide.
Good guy though. He tried his damnest but he just couldn’t handle life.

How do you get backpay? I applied again recently, was denied last year.

You’ll get back pay if you appeal a denial but not if you apply all over again from scratch.

I didn’t appeal my last denial in 2016, should have. I re applied in October 2018

Wait tyou just confused me. I applied 6 months ago and now I want to apply again but with a lawyer does that count as appealing a denial

I’m not sure. Sorry I confused you. I forget what the time limit for an appeal is.

Well since I reapplied, l guess I can’t get back pay🤷‍♀️

I hope you get that money. Better spent on you than killing arabs with drones somewhere in the middle east. I am also gonna get on disability again I hope.
