I made a shawl a few days ago. I spent many many hours on it … like over 24 hours in total. So my cousin comes over and sees me crocheting … so I tell her how easy it is… and I made this shawl 4 times… she says can I have one. so I gave her one. Didn’t even offer to pay for the wool…
tell her she owes you a steak dinner…
Well I don’t eat meat but I get what you mean
just tell her she needs to give you something in return like cash or something because you worked so hard on them and think you want something.
It’s gone now. and I can’t ask… I know for next time now.
ok well…best that way I guess…sorry.
I’ve given away expensive things to very brief acquaintances… like a £180 suit and a £440 keyboard.
Not even sure why and it bothered/bothers me.
[I struggle to make friends, am very lonely and lose friends easily so maybe that is partly why?

I’m saying so maybe you don’t feel alone with this.![]()
Thank you ivor I’m the same but Im mad at myself I already know her well enough.
It can be tough when people ask for things.
Well, looking on the positive side…your cousin must have really liked your crocheted shawls if she asked for one.
If she had offered I would have said no , but she didn’t even offer
I mean if it were my cousin I wouldn’t charge as they are family. But maybe you could ask for something from her in exchange for the shawl as a way to pay you back for the time and effort, or teach her how to make one with you. Crochet buddies!
I don’t consider this cousin my family… She’s always after something when she contacts you
@anon25873142 I also struggle with defending boundaries some times. Just take note and learn from it…
Hey man… Hyd?
