All the other times it hasn’t worked but I’ve still never become psychotic in those 8.5 years maybe I need to try tapering more gradually with pdoc …she did say I could try without again but I was too scared. I’ll still be taking my mood stabilisers though.
Wish you the best of luck. I tried again and last week things got too much for me and had to go back on them :-/
I wasn’t happy about it, but all I would say is carry them around with you incase you feel you need to take them.
If you have some prn like a Benzo that will help to have too
As long as your psychiatrist is on board @anon80629714 then it’s worth a shot … but make sure that you reduce your Abilify dose only under the supervision of your psychiatrist.
Go very slow!! It May take a couple of months for a successful tapering off process.
Good luck!!
I read with drawl from the AP’s cause psychosis
Wish you good luck, hope it succeeds!
Abrupt withdrawal may cause psychosis, not gradual
Well if your pdoc is on board with you, then i guess there’s nothing left to do but to wish you the best of luck. Keep in touch, so we know how you’re going. And if you are starting to find it hard, don’t be ashamed to go back on them. Good luck.
you re inviting trouble if you go with out your meds…I wouldn’t do it in a million yrs
Just make sure you work with your pdoc as you come off the AP. Good luck @anon80629714!
How much abilify are you on @anon80629714
Good luck! I missed a dose the other day and ended up in the hospital… looks like I’m gonna be on APs for a while
I am on 10mg .sds
i couldn’t handle antipsychotics because i hate how they make me feel more than i hate dealing with psychosis
good luck!
Yes, it is a very slow tapering off meds process. There will still be some withdrawals in most cases. Mine were quite severe. I didn’t start feeling much better until about 5 months later.
