Just buckle down and do it. Just expect that it may be stressful but also expect that stress to be temporary. Sometimes the hardest part for me of taking a class or something like that is just getting started. I’m a procrastinator but once I actually sit down and do the work I usually do pretty good at it. Sit down somewhere, fix yourself a snack and just get into it.
Use the good things you listed about your job as motivation. Your job has some positive things about it and you’ve been there awhile and seem to be doing OK so just remind yourself how hard it is to find a job you can do and be successful at and use that as motivation.
Some workplaces allow you time during work to complete online training. It’s at least worth asking if they can pay you for the time it takes to train/test, or more likely they will reduce your tasks for a day or two to let you work online. In any office this is perfectly normal, but in a cleaning job they might take advantage of you and you might think it is normal, but it isn’t. You should be paid for training and learning time, in my opinion.
With regards to the difficulty, I can only say the the things I learn best are the things I am interested in, so are you actually interested in healthcare, or are you just filling in time with a cleaning job? If you have a genuine interest you will always find it easier and more fulfilling to learn about that subject. Follow your passion!
Just know that your boss is pulling for you to do good. You apparently are doing good there and they want to keep you so they are on your side and want you to do well. They don’t want to lose you and have to train a new employee.
If you knew what a palagmiothymia whatever they called it thing was, what could you become? Would you be interested in upskilling, maybe becoming a paramedic or a senior cleaner?
I’ve been unemployed for so long I didn’t want to offer any foolish advice. I have a ton of respect for @77nick77 and I think he gave excellent advice. If I ever felt discouraged about work, I would probably listen to what he has to say. I’ve read his commentary on similar threads about work and I feel he gives great advice on the subject. Over the course of the years I’ve been on the forum I think 77nick77 is a good man.
I was about to tell Mae, 'We shouldn’t blow too much air into 77nick77’s head because then his evil upstairs neighbor will probably try to pop it with a needle like a balloon. Man it’s a shame you have to deal with that. I hope things go your way soon. Now I’m not wishing death on anyone or anything but hopefully your bad neighbor moves the ■■■■ out soon.
Sorry didn’t mean to bring up a sour subject. It is just that I sometimes spend time lurking on the forum and have read about extensively over the course of months about your current predicament. It does not sound pleasant to have to deal with your neighbor.
