I am doing better overall, because of the group home situation. It is because I am doing chores sometimes, I get to do errands…… with my roommates, and I get to socialize more. But I am planning on leaving……the group home soon. There is still rules, and I want to be more free.

You still able to do your music?
I hope you can find accommodation more to your liking. Group homes are often not ideal. But as a small step to living on your own can be helpful.

Yeah group homes are good for a lot of things, it depends how you feel basically living with 24/7 staff keeping an eye out for you
Living independently has its draw backs too, you may start isolating yourself, struggle paying bills and miss the group home
Its up to you but think carefully mate

Have you talked to the group home staff about them giving you more opportunities for freedom? Perhaps you can compromise so you don’t have to jump ship completely.

A group home was good for me for 5 years from 1990-95. They were some of my most productive years, I was working and going to school and socializing a lot.
Don’t make any hasty decisions, it sounds like that group home has been really good for you, You have to take the bad with the good.
