I am currently researching about every human's inherent worth

I saw this quote today and thought it more applicable to the human condition.

The quote you’re referring to is by Noam Chomsky, and it goes like this:

"How people themselves perceive what they are doing is not a question that interests me. I mean, there are very few people who are going to look into the mirror and say, ā€˜That person I see is a savage monster’; instead, they make up some construction that justifies what they do."12

This quote reflects Chomsky’s views on self-perception and justification of actions. It suggests that people often create narratives or justifications to avoid confronting uncomfortable truths about themselves. It’s a powerful commentary on human nature and self-deception.

I agree. I think we’re all immeasurably valuable and the proof of that is in the beauty of each person :slightly_smiling_face:

In Gods eyes we are all inherently worthy. Christianity has been very positive for me

Maybe on a spiritual plane, but in this hard world we often have to treat people differently and assign them different worths. We do need to work to protect the dignity of everyone, though.

From all the support I get to help me deal with SZ I feel I am worth a lot to those that are helping me. They are loving me as they love themselves.

I guess economists, actuaries, and insurance people know. I guess Paris Hilton’s dog is worth more than me.

Taylor Swift’s legs, and J-Lo’s ass are worth more than most people in terms of money lol. I mean there’s a difference between monetary value and inherent worth, I guess.

Tbh I still don’t really understand the inherent worth. Like how is it that a mass murderer has as much value as let’s say mother Theresa.

What do you guys think, logically speaking

I do believe in equality in inherent worth but I don’t fully understand it yet.

I don’t believe in that Zoe. That is bad thinking imo.

An object or objectification is bad. It sounds like nihilism at it’s worst!

Just my 2 cents.

Could you elaborate because I don’t understand what you mean?

I really don’t know. But you should look at your own morality and morals because Mother Teresa had issues but she was much nicer and better than a murderer…I mean I believe murder is wrong and I believe in God and follow the rules and believe different things than you or most people. I think everyone is equal in a sense, but some people are better than others, I guess…

I tend to think sociopaths and psychopaths lack boundaries, empathy, and hurt others.

They tend to not consider rules or consequences, and furthermore, tend to view humans or people no differently than objects.

A nihilist is someone that doesn’t care or believes in nothing. That all meaning and everything is relative or abstract and there is no right and wrong, etc.

I’m not really educated enough on philosophy or anything.

I mean some people believe weird stuff. I generally avoid and don’t like people anymore.

You don’t like ppl anymore? Oh that’s kinda sad. Lol.

Comes with the territory of paranoid schizophrenia, I guess. I mean I have irrational fears and stuff.

How many people has AI killed again? Who created the AI, again?

How many people died under communism and Nazism? I mean they say 'humans are the most dangerous animal" more so than bears, cougars, and lions and tigers lol.

Everytime I turn on local news or watch the news, I get paranoid and scared…

Sorry to hear that. It sounds really stressful especially cos the news really is reality too

I try to focus on the Positive in the world but I’m completely aware there’s also ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  madness going on and yes, it’s terrifying.

I don’t know why the news focuses on conflicts. I stopped watching it

They were both born with the same worth. One probably thought he was worth more then everyone and became psychologically corrupt. Maybe from watching too much news. Maybe from lack of guidance and monitoring. Maybe we all need to be psychologically evaluated every six months. We should all be evaluated for suicidal and homicidal concepts. Probably believe others had no worth.

The other probably was guided and monitored better in some way. And was a female who are less likely to kill. Maybe hormonal like testosterone and estrogen differences. Also probably believed everyone was worth something in some equalitive way.
