the pills. They just stick in my throat. It’s awful. I hate taking medicine all the time. I wish there was another way. I hate that I have to take them for the rest of my life. I take like over 20 pills a day including vitamins and pain killers. I feel like one of the pills is stuck in my throat. ARGHHHHHH
You might want to have a barium swallow test done if you’re having that much trouble swallowing.
i know you’re right
I hate taking meds too but if it’s the price I have to pay for sanity, quality of life and average functioning then I’ll force down my pills.
Hello @Leaf, have you heard of antipsychotic injection instead of taking oral antipsychotics? I heard that it helps people who cannot take oral medications due to problems with swallowing.
I heard that you only get this injection about once a month or so.
I take 15 pills a day and I can’t stand it anymore
Some medications interact with each other and cause swallowing disorders. I have that problem.
That sounds like more than you need.
I hope they soon finish those AI programs that will reduce medication use by removing superfluous and interacting meds.
This used to happen to me after I overdosed!
@Leaf Here are some things you can try
- Take one pill at a time
- Take them with applesauce or yogurt
- Break down the ones you can
- Practice breathing exercises
- Listen to calm music while taking meds
Yeah I’ll watch tv while taking my meds.
becouse you living not right

Who are you talking to? What are you talking about?
I also have extreme difficulty swalowing my meds. They get stuck in my throut. I know cut them in halve and swallow them 1 by 1.
I also can’t swallow red meat. It gets stuck and i had to get it removed from my oesophagus with a scope, twice already. I know eat chicken, fish and ground meet.
I had a Barium swallow test done 3 years ago and dr said there is nothing wrong. He said I should chew my food properly. I now eat with a glass of water next to me to swallow my food.
Food gets stuck in my esophagus too. Mostly noodles, rice and white meat chicken. I’ve never had to have it removed by scope though. I always just force it down by taking big gulps of water.
