I have 11 pills to take every night so I take 4 capsules, 4 lithium tablets and three other smaller pills. So I took my capsules all at once and one of them got stuck in my throat and somehow opened. Man it burned. I drank all my water and it was still stuck and burning so I immediately thought MILK. So I drank a glass of milk. It was still stuck but burning less. Finally I tried applesauce and that seemed to do the trick. But my throat is still burning from whatever med it was that opened in my throat. I don’t know how to prevent this in the future because it was so scary and painful.
Ouch! I have taken a panadol without water before and it got stuck in my throat and burned it too! It really hurts! Don’t worry, the pain should subside soon.
Don’t try and swallow them all at once lol.
Oh man. I have had similar and it truly sucks. Glad the applesauce did the trick. At least you know what to do in the future
Yes lol @TheSecondVariety I’m going to stick to maybe 2 pills at a time from now on
Imagine the horror I must live everyday. I have pharmacophobia, I’m afraid of swallowing pills so I always chew them. Beside forcing me to avoid capsules as much as possible, this phobia also did a number on my teeth. ![]()
Oh my gosh that’s horrific. I used to have such a problem swallowing pills. I’d gag and choke then vomit my pills back up immediately after I tried to swallow them.
That happened to me when I was on lithium years ago
Tastes terrible!
Scary!!! I’d call your family dr and tell them what meds you take and what happened to see if they know what, if anything, you need to do
