Hows the condition of your teeth?

Excellent. I brush twice a day with water flosser.

Absolutely awful- combination of bruxism, dental phobia, and a history of rather poor dental hygiene. Ideally want teeth out and dentures in , but depending on costs may just have to settle for teeth being taken. Care coordinator is trying to fast track me for dental care with a team that 's focussed on dental treatment for those with autism and/or severe mental illness. At the same time consultant dealing with the osteoporosis is pressing for me to get dental treatment asap so I can be given this

I brush twice a day. I was at the dentist last year and teeth are good but I need to do yearly cleanup and checkup.

My teeth have been bad in the past. Ever since this whole thing started I brush regularly once a day and sometimes twice. My teeth have improved with my diet moving away from carbs and overall growing more contained in quantities. Sometimes I floss but it’s rare, very rare. Other than actual health my teeth look healthy I think, not extra white like some madmen in America but still white enough to be considered colloquially white from people who aren’t obsessed with it, at least by non-American standards. I know Americans have the bar way higher than the rest of the world when it comes to teeth whiteness so it’s kind of hard to speak on it with a different background as I don’t know the exact expectations and I don’t want to be misleading.

P.S. Also I dislike dentists, they are often bad at their job, their prices are over the top and they tend to treat you like a customer and not a patient, which makes it hard to trust them as they are constantly trying to sell you something. Plus in my life, anecdotally, I have never seen a job in this age that’s passed on from father to son like being a dentist, which makes the whole thing even less inspiring as it’s basically the posterboy of generational wealth. If that weren’t enough there is an incentive for them to do malpractice and it’s very hard to demonstrate or even be aware of any wrongdoing.

I take good care of my teeth, but my teeth aren’t great. I have dental insurance through Mr Sun’s work. I have a really nice dentist I visit twice a year.

I never brushed my teeth as a boy. I got serious about brushing at age 27. The dentist had saved my teeth my whole life. It took a couple of decades to get the habit of brushing. It’s a kind of game to me. I don’t want to skip because that becomes habitual. I have had three pulled, one because it was cracked and the others because of decay. It’s not as easy to eat now. One tooth had decay from food stuck in-between. The food rots and the bacteria causes tooth decay.

For my age, my teeth are awful.
When I was a kid you had to shower, go to school and wear fresh clothes
But my parents never got me into brush and flossing
I’ve had loads of cavities and might lose my teeth young, but blehhh I don’t care much anymore :pensive:

My hygienist says my front teeth and gums are all good condition. But I have only two molar teeth left. And they are useless for chewing.

Heavily stained, missing 1 and my gums are receding. I’ve always brushed but am 43 years old and have smoked since I was 14. The staining doesn’t damage the enamel I’ve been told and the thought that the Romans had bad teeth keeps me positive.

They also used urine as mouthwash… no joke.

My teeth are kinda eroded. I brush daily but need the wisdom teeth pulled as they are rotten (one nerve died a year ago after terrible aches).
I guess tobacco is to blame. That, and chocolate / pastries.

I tried to make the tooth emoji beige it didn’t work

What teeth? To be honest, I never learned to care about teeth. I was tempted to bite a few people a few times but I also would bite my own cheeks.

My gums aren’t doing so well

The reason my molars are all gone is because I was always a nervous woman and spent a lifetime grinding my teeth at night apparently.

Lithium ruined my teeth
I had to get veneers on my upper teeth and a bottom denture.

I no longer wear dentures but still have my veneers.

My teeth are in bad shape and it doesn’t help the situation when you have an intense fear of going to the dentist
