How will you live your life if you are vomiting every day?

I was thinking this in relation to the drug KarXT. Its most common side effect, from what I understand, is vomiting. How am I going to go for a walk if I can vomit in the middle of the road, for example? not to mention studying, working

When my acid reflux is out of control, I vomit a lot. It’s not that bad, but you do lose weight or stop gaining weight.

Edit. I take it back, when it gets bad - it is really bad

I read that over time people get used to it. But the frequency of vomiting should be checked, right?

Hmm, I wouldn’t be so sure.
I know people who have recurrent migraines and they also throw up. They curse their luck.

Dont Worry Niavana. Just because a meds has some gastronom interior side effects doesnt mean that youll get Theme. If the Company didnt mention all of the side effects of the meds they would break the law and could get sued.

im really seeing that 14:1 vs placebo as being the most probable adverse effect

The majority of procholinergic and anticholinergic AEs with KarXT were mild, occurred in the first 1-2 weeks of treatment, and were transient with a median duration ranging from 1 day for vomiting to 13 days for dry mouth.

I will take one day of vomiting over a lifetime of being fat, heck I will take a lifetime of vomiting over being fat but the choice is yours

Public vomiting leads to a fine here.

Honestly, that seems a bit unfair. Vomiting can be something that you cant control. Its a reflex. What if you have the stomach flu?

I would imagine that people get taken off the med if they have vomiting. Just because a side effect is common doesn’t mean it is ignored.

I have similar issues for many years. Cant keep any food down and i vomit 2 or 3 times a day unless my stomach is empty. In the hospital I didn’t have the issue so much as my diet changed and i exercised more. Standing up and moving around probably helps i’m guessing.

stomach tablets such as omeprizole (hope i’ve not confused with another of my meds) works very well, basically sorts all the acid out and stops the pain

Yeah you probably wouldn’t get a fine if you were ill.

I’m just talking out of experience.

In my college days I went out. Got drunk and once vomited in a public place and got a fine.

Not one of my best stories I have to say.
