How was your weight (Clozapine vs Olanzapine)

I ask bc from transfer beetween Risperdal to Zyprexa,I gained 12kg in two months…
I never lost any weight when I chaged to Clozapine …

That surprises me. I gained weight on zyprexa but not as much as I gained on clozapine

Yes,both meds are hard to take,but my Clozapine doesn’t work any more…
I had more energy on Z.

I gained 20kg more on Clozapine than on Olanzapine.

I gained LOTS of weight on Zyprexa. Changed meds after 2 months. I gained about 30 pounds during that time.

Clozapine just kinda slowed down the process. Still gaining but very slowly
Gotta get back to the gym

I hate clozapine’s side effects…but, damn, it’s helped me stay out of the hospital. Constipation, tachycardia, hypersomnia, sialorhea…but I’m not spending half the year locked up in the hospital anymore.

Same tachycardia
Can sleep almost all day

But yes it had saved my sanity too from all the voices and delusional thoughts

My pdoc told me Clozapine causes most weight gain followed by Olanzapine.

Put on loads of weight on olanzapine. And the same on clozapine.

i think if you not crave for carb its easy to loose weight .i m 107 kilos and loosing weight continuesly.my target weight is 83 i need to loose about 24 kilos which it will took 7 months approximately

I am on zyprexa. My goal is to eat 1200 calories a day. Sometimes I go over. My weight is staying the same. I also go for a walk every day. I need to lose weight, but I can’t quit zyprexa. I have been on alot of aps that don’t work.

both caused massive weight gain to me. I’m so sad I could cry because the mental ward put mum on Zyprexa and now she’s Size XXX and she’s had back problems the last 30 years and now she’s in so much pain in one of her legs so much that she only is able to lie in bed.
Real men don’t cry so it seems that I’m not a real man.

I am on Olanzapine 5mg+Amisulpride 50mg. I had put on weight about 5 kg after the switch of meds last year. I’m now 55kg. Not too bad.

I gained twice as much weight on clozapine than zyprexa.

I gained sixty pounds in 120 days when I was on Zyprexa. That’s a half a pound a day. The stuff made me crave sugar and want to sleep a lot.

I didn’t really gain weight on olanzapine or clozapine.

Quetiapine was awful though. I gained around 100 lbs over the years I took it. The drs all told me it caused less weight gain than olanzapine. But that wasn’t true for me!!

Now I’m back on olanzapine thank goodness (have been now for years) and I was able to lose around 50 lbs of the weight I gained from the quetiapine.
