Also if I get akathisia is it an indicator that I’ll get td later on?
Remove the offending agent and trial of a sedative such as Klonopin. Several classes of drugs are used, but the most important is to stop or reduce the dose of the medication which is usually the cause, or to switch to another drug which is less likely to cause it. Benzodiazepines, Mirapex and Catapres have all been used with varying success rates.
Akathisia should be discussed with the prescribing physician. They might need to adjust or change the antipsychotic. Medications added to combat this symptom may exacerbate the condition for which the offending agent was prescribed. Make sure your iron level is OK as low iron can cause RLS-type symptoms (Wittmaack-Ekbom syndrome).

My experience with akathisia was truly horrifying. It only stopped after I stopped taking antipsychotics. I also had the beginnings of tardive dyskinesia setting in. Even after I stopped taking antipsychotics, it was months before I could sit still for any significant length of time.
I take Akineton.It is biperiden.Helps with cramps and uncontroled movements,as it relaxes the muscles.Don’t know how it’s called outside Europe.Good luck.
