How to reduce weight gained by Invega / Paliperidone?

I’ve gained at least 25 pounds weight thanks to continued use of Paliperidone / Invega.

Is there anyway to lose a few pounds at least?! Some feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

It’s not easy but looking out for your eating. Portion size and enough protien to make you feel full. No starving or anything that results in rebound weight gain…your body is a smart system! Cut down on carbs …eat well and above all …

Exercise! It’s hard I know but you start with three half hour walking sessions and you move from there. Walk as fast as you can and any other exercise helps.

You have to be vigilant. I gained all my weight on oral risperdal. I actually maintain and lost some on zyprexa…it’s all so different for everyone!

I’m on a few medications and have a thyroid condition, but I’ve been able to lose a bit of weight by drastically reducing my portions like Rogueone suggested, without starving myself or attempting a crash diet. Five smaller meals spread throughout the day are in my plan. One serving of good carbs, and maybe one serving of protein each, possibly two proteins in the case of breakfast/lunch//dinner.

EDIT: Oh, and as many vegetables as you want (So long as you remember to wash them, always.)

Good luck. And exercise is a good idea as well, though I barely do that.

Exercise and don’t eat any processed foods. Only food made by nature not science

Is there any medicine that I can take along with invega/paliperidone that prevents weight gain or makes me lose weight?

Yea so I’m on straterra and it helps control my food cravings and helps me keep my stomach empty between meals. I also take vyvanse. I heard that metformin works but I’ve never tried it. U can take b complex too which I also do to keep my hunger at bay. But I have to take it like 3 Times a day.

I take topiramate for epilepsy. A few years ago I tried coming off and noticed weight gain as the dose lowered. I think this medicine keeps weight down. But I do not know any other things like natural stuff and I wish I did cause I’m giving it a go again soon.

I agree with advice given. Fresh natural food. Not processed. Also I heard having breakfast kick starts your metabolism early and can keep weight down. No late night meals. And yes the walking.

I just switched to Paliperidone a couple of days ago. Hopefully I won’t gain weight or a lot of weight.

I gained 15kg on Paliperidone. Best way to lose it is mixing cardio + weights, if you gain more muscle it means you can eat more cause your body needs more fuel to maintain itself
