Self talk. Self talk! Taking to myself in my head calms me down instantly. You have to develop a calm voice in your head that counteracts the anxious voice. I didn’t use to have one. I developed one through stress. Doesn’t matter if you don’t believe the voice. Just listen to how soothing it is. This is the same strategy I use when I am afraid of a hallucination. I just talk to myself in a calm tone in my mind. Wherever you lead your focus, that is where you will be.
