How to Prove I'm Sick Enough for SSDI?

How do I do it? They said I’m not sick enough. But I’m plenty sick! Now I’m on my appeal but I don’t know what to do except keep getting more medical records. But I have very few medical records from me being psychotic, since I hid so much of it.

I heard someone say once that no one ever gets SSDI their first attempt. You have to keep appealing and appealing.

They deny almost everyone the first time around. Just appeal it. They just want to delay payments for as long as possible.

Will going back to the hospital help? Maybe if they see I have a lot of hospitalizations…

I don’t know if it will help with disability, but I think it could help you in general.

If they say you are not sick enough, then I think you can ask them to evaluate you through a doctor. they might arrange an evaluation appointment with their doctor who will determine if you’re truly sick or not.

I think that’s true for SSI, though. I don’t know anything about SSDI. Isn’t SSDI something that older people get, regardless of whether or not they are sick, because they can no longer work?

oh, I see.

getting a lot of hospitalizations is not easy…

I doubt hospitals constantly accept the same person, over and over again. I think they would rather just keep a dude in the same hospital, until they determine that the dude is stable enough to leave. either that or they will likely send him to a State hospital. State hospitals are not fun. :frowning:

No you’re thinking of Social Security.

I’ve been rejected disability pension four times despite five psychiatrists have diagnosed me as schizophrenic.

If I apply again it would have to be with help of a lawyer but I havnt a clue as can’t afford one but one might be eligible to free or cheap one but I don’t know how go about it really n suck at beuracratic n paper work etc

If they keep rejecting you maybe apply with help n support.

You just said like two days ago that the people you live with can’t even tell you are sick.

They just go by your medical records. Hire a lawyer and appeal. If you get approved you will get back pay and the lawyer will get his fee from that.

You have to have a work history to get SSDI.

Sometimes u have to get a lawyer. They help a lot

I got a lawyer and got accepted right away.
They really do help.
