How to pet cats?

Whenever I try to pet a cat… it takes some time before it trusts me and then it keeps on rubbing it’s body against my body. I touch it and pet it. That’s alright.

But the tough part is after try to leave and when I am walking it comes with me … it follows me and follows my foot steps.

The problem is it keeps getting bumped into my feet accidentally and then it gets hurt. I try to move away but it keeps following my feet … Not like dogs who don’t match your footsteps they rather follow from a distance or side by side.

But cats keep following your footsteps and that becomes difficult and they might get hurt and when they do they run away.

What to do?

My cats walk close to my feet too you just have to watch where you step and try to let them walk ahead of you

The best way to pet a cat is to scratch the very top of his head or behind both ears or back of neck or under the chin. They just love all that.
