My cat is the best 
I am allergic to cats, but I swear I am a cat magnet. My friends always joke to me about it lol, if ever there is cats around they always come straight to me. 
I don’t currently own a cat but it was very informative.
Our last kitty, Pauline, was a cuddle muffin and she loved to sleep on me for hours. The current fuzzbeast, Calliope, is persnickety and only gives attention and physical contact in short spurts. My philosophy has always been, “you have to love the cat you have.” Some cats make that harder than others. We’re still glad we have her.
Callie came from a cat hoarder and was constantly getting beaten up by the other cats in the home. She had spent nearly three years living alone in just a bedroom when we got her. Pretty obvious that it messed her up some. It’s been a pleasure seeing her unwind and become healthier and more trusting over the past half year. She’s initiating contact with us a lot more now and seems to be accepting us as “her humans.” She is extremely verbal compared to other cats and we can have half hour conversations. “So what do you think about _______?” “Muuuuuurrrrrp!”
The article is wrong in one respect: Callie is crazy about being petted right above the tail. She’ll give you a poke with her nose and make a “mip” noise if you stop petting here there before she’s ready.
