Want to make friends with a cat? Blink slowly, say scientists

I’ve actually tried the slow blink with Charlie when I first moved in here. Don’t know if it was the slow blink or the near unlimited snuggle time that won Charlie over.

I used to have a cat that would get defensive if I blinked slowly. I tried it, but on her it didn’t work. I just had to act normal and then she was really snuggly

I’ve had many, many cats. What wins them over the fastest is raw bacon, lol.

I get along really well with cats, but also people with Downs Syndrome for some reason. I have no idea why, but I’m always careful to reciprocate the affection as I understand how important it is. Something about my body language?

I get along with kids a lot. I often feel controlled by them lol I feed them but then their parents tell me not to bcz they eat too much. I guess I am somewhat docile.

Seriously? I haven’t even thought of raw bacon. That’s actually a good idea. Bacon isn’t cheap though and cats demand the best.

Note how slowly the dog is blinking.

My cat loves tuna. If I try to give him chicken or some other meat he just backs away. Guess every cat has their own taste.

You can hypnotise cats pretty easy. Sit in front of them and very, very slowly close your eyes. They mirror you

The cat is not getting MY bacon. There are limits.
