Train yourself to buy your groceries better, i don’t buy sodas ever i lost 25 lbs. Eventually you can lose weight with the meds but you have to take them

To be realistic about this, you currently have a bmi of 21.8 which is good and healthy weight to be at.

Given the nature of the drugs that you take I would be happy at that weight.

I feel chubby though. Also, my waist circumference is too big…

That’s tough… cozapine makes you sleepy and tired. The methods are the same: spend more energy than you consume, that means sports and diet.

For diet: drop bread, pasta, and most of the sugars, no sodas, more proteins, keto diet would be good.
For exercise, start small, start doing exercises, walking, biking, gym maybe.
@Jonathan2 is doing bike and took him a while to build momentul. But he takes just a smal dose of clozapine
@rogueone is doing womderfull (i belive on olanzapine- almost same as clozapine as far as weight gain). But remember it took him 5 years…nothing happends over night.

If you feel chubby, might check tyroid or for diabetic… either way exercises would help

my dose of clozapine is small too. thanks for tips by the way

I can tell that if is big dose, most likely you would be sleeping all day.
Clozapine makes you hungrier even if you take just a tiny bit.

yeah i sleep only like 10 hours

Without clozapine I sleep like 3 hours… is not fun…

Always leaving a little food on the plate I guess is the key. It’s really those few extra bites that sting us. An extra 100 calories per day over one month would equal a pound of fat added. We don’t really need to do anything extreme, just give up that little excess. But man likes to make things harder for himself with years of extreme diets

Tl;dr

A moderate diet and moderate exercise. I know it’s harder on antipsychotics but possible.

I do not know gow to leave food on the plate…lol…my problem is that every two hours I need something to eat…I do not even use a plate…

I respect your opinion @POET , you are one of the best trained here…

Once you passed 25, the older you are the less food you need.

I’m on 300 mg clozapine and went from 298 lbs to 200 lbs. I did it by weighing and measuring my food portions and logging everything I eat into a calorie app. I also do not let trigger foods in the house like chocolate or chips. I still have another 40-50 lbs to lose. But the weight I lost took 2 years of trying…

BMI scales are not reliable. They do not take into account muscle weight.

You are better off getting some bioimpedence scales and measuring the muscle ratio to fat ratio. It can also measure water weight etc.

BMI is useless.

Most athletes, if not all come over as obese on the BMI scale. (not long distance runners but the rest)
