What is your journey with eating and exercising?

I used to be very in shape, because of playing soccer. That was when I was younger. Currently I am trying to gain weight. I am around 27 pounds under weight. I plan on getting in shape in the future. I plan on lifting weights, and playing soccer in the future.

I gained 100 pounds from clozapine which I’ve dropped almost completely. Now I have 10 lbs to go.
I’ve been dieting like a mother. And cycling and walking daily hitting like 30,000 steps and sometimes 50 heart points a day.

You’re lucky that your problem is being underweight although I’m I do feel for you. I hope that you can achieve your goal.
You should go to a barbecue place

That’s awesome, did you reduce the amount of clozapine? Or was it just diet and exercise?

I stopped taking clozapine and dieted. I also walked a lot.

Stopping clozapine was the best thing I’ve ever done.

I’m thinking of reducing my clozapine. Need to speak to my psychiatrist first though and see what he thinks.

I had serious physical responses to it. Not everyone does but if it is making you gain weight, something to think about. I would recommend getting off of it completely. And maybe trying Abilify, or another AP if your doctor thinks it’s strong enough at the high dose to counter your symptoms. Good luck man!

I take very little clozapine for sleep, but I feel is not good for me. Weight related also. Makes me feel so hungry.
But also I have blurred vission. Did that happend to anyone else?

It has been the most troubling part of my life. I was not able to get to abide to the proper eating habits and exercising since I used to feel laziness after getting the illness. Now I am seeing that as what is the point of doing it. But maybe I can feel good if I follow good routine of eating and exercising. Need to change the perspective.

30,000 steps a day is a lot! It’s like the most I’ve done on a day :grinning:

Somebody with diabetes told me to eat snacks when I got diabetic. Going off snacks and exercising a little every day has done wonders for me with lower a1c and weight loss.

I currently weigh 2 lbs above my ideal weight of 158 lbs. But I know I lost a bunch of water weight. Like 7 lbs. worth. So whether it counts, Idk.

I’m now doing body weight based strength training and yoga for exercise.
