How much to

Last night I took half my olanzapine dose (15 mg instead of 30 mg). My dr lied to me when she said 30 mg is the max dose. 20 mg is! I read it.

I do not like the weight gain. Although it has stopped, it is just very difficult to lose.

I don’t know what is right. It’s 10PM. I can’t decide how much olanzapine I should put in my body. How is your night?

My therapist threatened to speak to my husband without my consent too. I am sounding paranoid to her. But we’re not to that point yet she says.

I also am stopping aripiprazole soon. Which I have taken since 2008 or so.

Probably not the best idea. Max doses are a guide and it’s not unheard of to take bigger doses. It’s under medical supervision and that is the thing. Yeah weight gain is an issue but so is untreated psychotic symptoms. I guess it’s all about function. If your not functioning then your not gaining.

We are just consumers like you and I’ve always found it pays to listen to your doctor. If they are any good they get a handle on you and what meds you can take/help.

I googled it and there are several things that popped up that said higher doses than 20mg can be more effective than 20mg

I’ve taken higher than the max dose of Geodon. They just have to give you an EKG first.

Ok thanks you guys have been a huge relief and help. I will take my full dose as per my dr orders. I am flipping paranoid. I don’t trust her and I don’t think she is a force of good but I will take the meds tonight and try to sleep. Have a good night.

You would have to pull up the submission to your countries regulatory body eg fda to check. There are also provisional guidelines around prescribing antipsychotics above the suggested dosage range. I think she was lying to you probably just drawing on a different information source. You could ask her to provide the source of her information. Antipsychotics are routinely prescribed about dosage range which isn’t great practice but there aren’t a lot of other solutions for some people. Holistic interventions either don’t have the funding or effect size and evidence as antipsychotics

Licky I had a great deal of aversion against taking pills just like you have. My meds cause side.effects just like the meds your taking. Every time you lower your meds you scroll the screen so you don’t know the outcome. I got side effects on my.meds aswell.but I just dislike psychosis so much that I choose meds instead of psychosis.

Doctors are not there to fulfill your sense of good nor evil
They’re there to treat an illness and hopefully make that type of thinking go away.
