Are you staying at a shelter. It takes awhile to get social security. Mine took 4 to 6 months. Closer to 6 months. Maybe, you could work online, blogging, writing articles, customer service. Also, think about studio apts, having a room mate, being closer to town. I really hope your at a salvation army or shelter. Go to social security office and get your papers filled out and interview. They will let you know exactly how much you will be getting. Try to get a food card from welfare if you have to for the being so you can eat. You have an illness you need to get government assistance. Once your on track things will only get better. You deserve help.

I work part-time and get SSDI. I get $975.00 a month. I think in order to get both SSI and SSDI at the same time you need a work history. In order to get one of those benefits you need to have a work history. Iâm not sure if you need the work history for SSI or you need the work history for SSDI. But it is definitely possible to get both of them at the same time. I got both of them for a long time. If you are living in some kind of mental health housing like a Board & Care, semi-independent living, supported housing, residential treatment homes, etc you can make it on SSDi or SSI. If you want to live independently in regular housing in the community I donât know if you could survive on just SSDI or SSI without some other income. Iâm 54 years old.

From there youâll still have to figure out how to make it work.
Thatâs the problem. You spend so much time trying to survive the system so you donât end up on the street that you have no energy to transition. If they would just let us relax we probley would all be making six figures. At least for a period of time. I like the UKs system better. Or at least the sound of it. I talked so long to aquire benefits half your life is gone. And even if you do break free on slip up and you start all over again. And now the measly amount we have to squeeze to make it they want to take away masking it with cracking down on fraud. Thatâs it just keep regulating yourself right off the map.

I try to count my blessings everyday when ever I think of all the much poorer folks in this world living mostly in third world countries. Just think if you lived in one of those countries who are not giving you money but instead we would find ourselves looking for a meal in the local land fill and hoping to find a good piece of cardboard or something to fix our makeshift roofs with.We would be considered rich compared to a lot of them, but in this country, where I live, I am below the poverty level.
