How many women here shave their face?

I’m just curious to see how common it is and so forth.

I personally have started shaving my face.

Be careful @Zoe
That’s a good way to develop a beard

Yea… Idk.

The beautician said usually it’s OK to do that.

But some ppl are developing beards over time idk. I guess so.

My facial hair started back around the age of 30 but I have been plucking my hairs with tweezers.

And yes, it is very common for women to develop facial hair as we age. It has to do with our hormones being out of balance.

I don’t think it makes a difference how we choose to remove our facial hair.

I was on testosterone about 6 years ago when i was transitioning (had to go off it cuz it made me psychotic)…anyways, i grow pretty obvious facial hair. Around the chin area i pluck it with tweezers, but i shave my cheeks and jowls with a razor. It doesn’t grow back faster or thicker with shaving, it just feels that way cuz the cut hairs feel “sharper” than hairs that grow back after plucking. It’s a myth that shaving leads to more hair growth.

You should get lazer treatment for that…

Laser hair treatment only works on dark hair with light skin.

The hair on my face is very light coloured.

I had laser treatment years ago. It didn’t work. I have a few hairs that grow and I just shave them off.

I epilate my facial hair (sides of face and upper lip).

It’s a device that pulls the hair out from the root— it’s uncomfortable to very painful depending on tolerance levels, but over time I’ve kinda gotten used to the sensation.

I’ve noticed it takes longer for the hairs to grow back, and I don’t have as much when they do and the hairs also aren’t as dark.

I had a device to epilate facial hair, for some reason if I did it on the sides of my face I would break out. Mine grows back very very fast but I’m more comfortable using the shaver than the epilator.

Once you shave your facial hair it grows back thicker so it’s probably better to pluck.

i don’t shave my face.

“No — shaving hair doesn’t change its thickness, color or rate of growth** . Shaving facial or body hair gives the hair a blunt tip. The tip might feel coarse or “stubbly” for a time as it grows out. During this phase, the hair might be more noticeable and perhaps appear darker or thicker.”

I would never do that. I’ve seen people who I think developed a beard from it. I had electrolysis done once for moustache hairs. It worked well.

That’s a coincidence you mention that, because the first few times I did the sides of my face, I also broke out. Luckily, the last couple of times I’ve epilated I haven’t gotten any bumps (knock on wood!).

I’m glad you’ve found something that works better for you! :+1:

Shaving rejuvenates the top layer of skin too. I shave my forehead, cheeks and around my brows.

Ik people that use hair removal cream, but that ■■■■ burns.
