Not feeling good today. Min has selectivity for 5ht2a on it side, something new i will learn abt when cognition returns. Hopefully this will be an all new drug.

Even if it targets some of the same receptors, it may have different levels of selectivity and occupancy. It definitely is a different drug though.

I don’t really get my hopes up about new drugs. It would be great if it makes it to the market and works well, though, don’t get me wrong. Most APs I’ve been tried on have caused me unbearable side effects, so I wonder why this one would be any different. The Abilify injections and low-dose Haldol that I take are doing a pretty good job for me. I still deal with some symptoms that I have to fight through, and the Abilify has lowered my sex drive considerably, but overall I’m not complaining. I hope for the sake of those of you who have not found an effective AP that you can tolerate, that great new drugs that will help you will make it to the market. Even though I’m on a pretty good med combo now, that will only last so long before this combo stops working so well for me. I try to be cautiously optimistic, though.
