The doctor prescribed me with 2mg Risperdon daily for two weeks.
How long will it take before I feel a noticeable effect, and what are some side-effects I should be aware of?

Not sure how fast it worked but I was a zombie on risperdon. I was at a higher dose. But for others it works well. Try it and see
Everyone is different
Improvement of some symptoms may be noticed in some patients within a few weeks. The full benefit of risperidone may not be seen for 4-6 weeks.

idk about side effects but as always listen to your body and mind and don’t be afraid to speak up if you notice anything going wrong.

Risperidone has a half-life of 23 hours, and it takes five half-lives to reach ~97% max blood serum levels, so you could feel some strong effects in as little as five days.

I was told today the 2mg is just to stabilize me until they cure my UTI, because apparently those can make psychosis worse. Wth?

I’m on risperdal consta depot now but when I first started the tablets in the hospital it helped my positives basically instantly.
I just came off 2mg a day. After 2 months I couldn’t cope at all. Even taking an antidepressant alongside it, I was so zombied and so depressed I couldn’t even function. Felt like I was physically incapable of any kind of happiness. I hope your experience is better, everyone is different

The thing about risperdone is it does wonders for your positive symptoms (Hallucinations, thoughts, and voices etc.) but for negative symptoms (apathy, social withdrawal, etc.) it makes them worse. Not to metion I gained 50 pounds in a couple of months. bad for me but for some people its exactly what they need

It took away the positives mostly but one of the side affects was that I lactated haha
it works well for me. im on 3 mg. the most annoying side effect is sometimes waking up early in the morning but unable to fully wake up and then go back to sleep for 10 minutes before u wake up again and it continues.
Risperdal is a great drug. It works right away on me. It has the side effects of zero sex drive, dry mouth, constipation, and mild akithesia. I’m on a medium dose of the injectable form.
risperdal kills sex drive. it’s a very strong medicine

After 1 month i started to get realy better on rispen, for me it has no side effects, it was a relief going off olanzapine and switching to rispen.
This is my life now, I don’t know anything else
Side effect dont happen espacially if you r in low dose
