How is that possible?!

It’s 10:25 pm here, I had a rough day today, I’m feeling exhausted + the medicine and I still can’t fall asleep. So the question is, how is that possible?

You probably can’t sleep because you are tense. Do your best tricks of relaxation.

It happens to me all the time. Have you ever tried melatonin? It’s a supplement. I take 3mg an hour before trying to go to bed, and sometimes it helps. Sometimes it doesn’t.

I’ve tried many different things, such as valerian root and other herbs, diazepam as well. It just doesn’t work on me, what so ever

Some people are just immune to all sleep aids. Do you do yoga or mindfulness exercises?

I use to do yoga and now I’m walking a lot.

I would say that a high dose of Zyprexa would work for you.

But what do you think when try to fall asleep? Things about the work?

I was on Zyprexa before, tho it was only 5 mg the starting dose but I told my psychiatrist I don’t like it, so he prescribed me with Quetiapine instead

I have found that the most effective way to beat insomnia is to have enough activity in my day that I actually tire myself out. I set a routine, and always follow it, and I don’t let myself take naps, no matter what. I can usually manage to sleep 5-6 nights a week.

Before I sorted out my medication, though, this was impossible. I would get too sedated, nap during the day, then be up for two days straight.

Sometimes when I can’t sleep I’ll feel sleepy when I’m standing up, and I’ll become alert when I lay down. I don’t practice good sleep hygiene. They say you’re never supposed to lie on your bed unless you want to go to sleep.
