I can understand why some APs do, but how does Depakote? I exercise like crazy (but my mom says I need to get my heart rate up more) and once I went on that I gained like 8-9lbs and the weight I gained on zyprexa when I was on it last summer (28lbs) won’t go away as well I gained almost 37lbs. I was 144, and now I’m 181. Its hard accepting my weight and trying to lose it and I can’t shed anything off. I don’t eat that much greasy stuff. I can’t eat nuts because I have a bad reaction. Yesterday I made myself throw up after eating late.
Don’t get in the habit of throwing up after you eat.
Learn to accept yourself as more than your appearance. I know it sucks, I am 205 and I can’t get rid of any weight, I just gotta remember that I am still a valuable person who just has to deal with medication causing me to have higher weight than I would have unmedicated.
I am going to the doctor to see about a prescription for something to lose weight. I don’t know what to expect or do if I actually lose weight…

Well it depends on what the doctor prescribes. Some medication increases metabolism, some makes you decrease your appetite, some does both.

That would be great!
It can be easy for me to start to resent the med.'s because of the physical effects they have on my body. But I’ve learned through some hard lessons that I have to take them. Right now this woman is coming down to the clubhouse and setting up our med’s for us. She missed one of my major med’s, and I’ve been jittery all week because of it. I think this week I am going to insist that she let me set up my own med’s. I’ll file a grievance if she doesn’t let me.
