How do you think you will retire?

How do u think you will end up in old age? Will you have family to look after you? And financially how are you gonna handle

All my siblings are older than me. The closest is 6 years older than I am. I’m sure I’ll have to live in subsidized housing if I live that long. I’m sure hoping I don’t.

I just put a down payment on a rocking chair and a porch. I think I will always have a little support from my sisters and stepmom and stepdad whether in person, or by phone or e-mail or whatever.

I don’t have any family here in Arkansas. My sister and her family live in Maryland. Right now I’m 60 years old and am receiving Social Security Disability. I have moderate arthritis in my left knee, mild arthritis in the left hip along with a cyst in the joint space. I have severe degenerative changes with mild spine curvature in my lower back.
I expect to be in a wheelchair in the future, and will probably have to go into a nursing home. My problem is my income is too high to qualify for Medicaid, but too low to pay for the nursing home outright
I don’t know what I’m going to do.

I’m on a pension since 2004. It’s ok to live by but I live with dad in a house. I have 4 other siblings so when he goes the others may want a share. That could get problematic but we will see. Hope a few years yet before that hassle.

It depends on how the US Government treats me. No more and no less. I may have a brother or two left but they’ll be old too, and it’s doubtful my Mom will be around and my nieces are different from having daughters and they will be unlikely to assume a major responsibility in the matter (and I understand). No I will be poor and dependent living solely on the whims of Washington, DC.

I expect to die before I can retire. When I am old, I will have no one anyway.

Hopefully I will doing the same thing as now, living in my own home, rather than poor and homeless like I think will be the case.

I retired 20 years ago - when i knew i wouldnt be working anymore! 45 now.

I will be doing exactly the same as i do now. On the sofa in front of my computer. If i struggle with my mobilty later on in life - Ill use my disabilty income to get carers in.

The way ive ravaged my body i would be suprised if i got past 65 anyway.

I want to work as long as I can. I can’t stand the thought of just sitting in a house. Doing nothing

I will stay in my home until I can’t care for myself anymore and will go into a home then. I don’t want my son to have to care for me. I am financially secure already and have good insurance.

I m not sure how I will retire.

but I know how I want to retire.

I am jobless now, been some time since being like that.

I want to retire from a job at the age of 60 and have sufficient funds to support me till my end, preferably have govt support also. when I retire I would love to have a family of my own meaning a wife and kids (am a single and been a single all my life). everything’s delayed now but I am sure I will have a beautiful wife n a beautiful job.

all the best to all.

happy new year.

Likely a heart attack or fatal blood clots on the job. Those are my odds.

I plan on staying in good physical health for the rest of my life.

Once I can no longer take care of myself I hope to be able to afford assisted living.

But assisted living is quite expensive. The place my parents are looking at is like $350,000 just to buy in. Then it’s like $3,500 a month to live there. This is for 2 people.
