How do you manage taking meds when outside?

I go outside with friends to dtown 50min from my house at night but I have to take my meds 11pm. It sucks having to remember taking them and in public. Its also embarrassing. Sometimes I forget to bring them with me and I get weird with people, I don’t feel good and my heart start racing. My thoughts become abnormal. Idk what to do.

I am also afraid of losing or dropping my meds from my pocket there. One solution I just thought of is to switch to injections. Injections are more convenient.

Maybe put them in a plastic bag or something that fits in your pocket. Then you can go to the bathroom or something to take them.

Damn risperidone injections only go up to 4mg oral/day, I need 6mg.

I get paranoid of that people in public seeing me taking my meds will think I am taking drugs and will call the cops.

I have a portable pill caddy I take with me and my smart watch reminds me to take my meds. If people ask, I just mumble something about heart meds. LOL.

I forgot to take my abilify this morning. And its too late to take it now. I dont feel good

Can’t you go to the restroom and take them? Initially when I got psychotic I couldn’t trust myself so I had emergency meds in my inner pocket if I became loopy.

I have taken meds in public before. Never had anyone making a comment.

I take nicotine lozenges in public. Nobody has ever looked at me. I could have been taking Abilify for all they knew.

You can try Invega Sustenna injections. I read that Invega is a metabolite of Risperidone.

What injection dose of invega is equivalent to 6mg risperidone? I read risperidone is a bit more effective.

I wouldn’t go on injections just to avoid being seen taking medication. If anybody asks you can just say it’s medication. You don’t need to say what it’s for.

Pill purse. Reminders. If someone asks you can tell those are prescription meds.
