How do you get anything done?

I’m pretty low functioning but would still like to get stuff done. How do you go about doing anything? Do you have any hints and tips? Maybe I should just make a list of things I need to do, at least that way I’ll have an overview. But any ideas/duggestions?

I struggle myself but at work there is competition and that’s what motivates me. So I could do with a few tips myself.

I have no problem at work but i have problems at home and stuff. What motivates me to clean my apartment is I have a case manager that does an apartment inspection twice a month and I have to clean up before he comes. Otherwise my place would be a mess.

When it comes to paying bills, picking up meds, managing my disability checks/health insurance, I struggle with it. Fortunately I have my parents to help me out to do it/get me to do it.

Moreso than I am low-functioning but I am LAZY. I am just a lazy person. Always have been, probably always will.

I’d dispute that big time. MI screws you over. It just wears you down. Sometimes you just surrender to it to keep sane, as stress can trigger a relapse.

My suggestion is don’t listen to any of the music that’s posted.

ive never had a problem with my Job. i am high-functioning , able to read , do stuff good. Yes I have horrible and debilitating delusions but it has never made me non-functional.

I thought u said u were more AWARE on meds. How come now you say that are not very functional?. Arent meds supposed to make you MORE FUNCTIONAL?

Maybe other people would like to post who they really listen to among all those songs.

Turningthepage posts his own music that he created himself is what I meant.

Yes, they do. I’m dead without them. Completely delusional / psychotic. A danger to myself and others. I have schizophrenia, not delusional disorder like you claim to have.

so at best, they make you stay - tripping over the roof or falling off the ladder and keep you at a level of low functionality.

I wish you all the best and I think you are justified and correct in taking Meds. I just dont feel like taking them and not now given my situation (i cannot afford to go low functional as I have a legal case and could be hospitalized for good).
So please refrain me from telling me to take meds. I do visit a Therapist quite regularly though

I have been diagnosed by a psychiatrist and this is not my claim

Delusional Disorder or SZ the diagnosis dosent really matter…the trouble is that I have SEVERE PSYCHOSIS and I am not been able to unfortunately come out of it. Any med will only give me a temperory relief but not cure the problem.

The intensity of the psychosis has gotten better thanks to improvement in my personal problems…with further change in things on my head (like getting off the legal case)…Im sure my delusional psychosis will get better.

I think to completely come out of my delusions will take an year or many years if not life long. It is something I have accepted for my life.

That’s completely false.

I prioritise , I go to college and work part time , my work is 3 miles to and 3 miles back, I cycle. Maybe you could start cycling , make your life as interesting as possible. Mix it up library , coffee shop , groceries , relax , watch your favourite shows , I guess what I’m saying is try not to let negative symptoms get a grip , when your active you may naturally want to get more things done.

Are you active , have you hobbies?

this (meds) is a touchy topic I want to stay away from, been banned 7 times and probably will be again. @everhopeful

I dont know if you know about Meditations ?. I know it gives me tremendous (sometimes unbelievable) energy

To be honest, no. But I did have success with doing something productive for an hour a day, so maybe I’ll revisit that plan. Then maybe extend it to 2 hours etc etc. That’s an interesting theory, you’ve got
'when your active you may naturally want to get more things done. ’
Try visiting a place of calmness and serene …something like a Lake and watch the birds and ducks or something like that…get a feel of fresh air…It always helps me…(Though finding a park in a third world country like mine - India is pretty hard)…but should be easy for you…considering u r in a first world place…

Yeah I would say that is accurate , but I do know how sz goes , from my experience the less active a person is , (gettn out and about) the more lethargic they become , do you have any other condition preventing you from being more active (other than sz)
