When they put me on anti-psych meds it took a lot of physical strength away from me. I lost a lot of weight off my bench press. Now I can only do the mildest of workouts. My body doesn’t recover nearly as fast as it did when I lift weights. When I looked at some of the pictures of people on this web site I noticed that some of them were bulked up. Have they been lifting weights? Are they on anti-psych med’s? How do they do that?
Sorry, I’m a swimmer… The heavy things I lift are for work, not fun.
Do the med’s affect your ability to swim?
Used to… I couldn’t swim for very long because I would get so tired so quickly. But when my meds got switched up… and I cut back on the smoking… little by little, I’m building back up to my old endurance.
I walk a lot and go to the gym. I’m not doing it to look like a body builder. I’m doing to lose weight. I’ve lost 18 kg in two years. Kid’s friends have stopped asking me if I’m pregnant. Haha
I lost a lot of physical strength when I took Antipsychotics. My muscles became loose and I could not even grip shopping bags when I was on Invega. Now things became better when I changed meds to Amisulpride. But still not much physical strength.
Things like mowing the lawn are harder for me. My body can’t take the heat.
Its more difficult to work out on meds. Take it easy and ease up on your ambitions
I think my pics are gone but I have gotten buff as hell. I take Geodon and chase that ■■■■ down with caffeine. I was a powerlifter, now I am a bodybuilder. Powerlifters lift multiple times their weight and try not to get any bigger while bodybuilders just pump their muscles up to make them bigger and dont care how strong they are. If you really want to see a pic of me I guess I can post one, I just get learned about some reverse image search called socialcatfish.com and that people can find me here with that, that’s apparently how my aunt did.
Theres something called “preworkout”. Just go into a GNC and say “preworkout”, buy the first thing they show you, take three scoops of it with water and wait thirty minutes, then see if you feel like working out.
No dont take three scoops, its a powerful stimulant cocktail and I am surprised they arent illegal. I take two scoops of that ■■■■ to workout and it makes my skin crawl, which is a normal side effect.
Go buy NOXPLODE blue raspberry and take two scoops. lol
No dont take NOXPLODE its the strongest one and made me go crazy when I took four scoops
Do you know what the active ingredients of pre-workout are? How much does it cost?
I don’t bother taking meds. Do the meds work?? I suppose one has to ask themselves that. If they work for you then fine, but for me they are a jike. I go without and I have more energy to work out which I do.
Main ingredients are caffeine and nitric oxide, a stimulant and a vasodilator. The vasodilator is what makes your skin crawl. They cost like 50$ for like 60 servings, one scoop is enough for normal person workouts, 2 scoops is for advanced heavy lifting, which is what I do. For example, half of my arms routine is 150lbs on the cable pushdowns, 10 sets of 10 repetitions. That’s not normal.
I do not really lift weights - well sometimes I use lightweight dumbells - I think that if Mortimer was on a more sedating type antipsychotic like Risperdal (what I am on) it would be more of a challenge for him to train as a weightlifter.
I barely have the motivation to do some moderate walking - sometimes I will walk indoors, as i cannot tolerate the Summer heat and humidity. But yes it is challenging for me to exercise - My motivation is shot, and the meds are a big part of this
By far the best workout I ever got was living out in the country in my mid 20’s doing farm work and maple syrup production. I was on more meds at that time than I am nowadays and it was honestly a struggle to get out of bed some mornings the sausage and pancakes didn’t wait around for you so I more often than not managed to get going. Before I knew it I was in the best physical shape of my life, before or since.
These days I can’t imagine where I got the motivation back then to work as hard as I did. I don’t have the motivation to clean the house or even leave the house much. But when it comes to symptoms such as the thought broadcasting or delusions these days I am free of those while during this time in my mid 20’s I was a total nutcase. But I suppose if I had to trade being motivated and physically fit for being free of psychosis than so be it.
I hauled hay when I was in high school. We had to toss sixty-six pound bales around. It kept me in pretty good shape. There is no way I could do it on med’s. Way too hot. Just mowing the lawn in the summer heat is hard for me now.
I manage to do a walk. I aim to do 40 min walk most days at the start of the day. I do get tired though
I’m about to start using that stuff again. You know you’re ready to hit the weight stack when the niacin flush rolls over you. WHAM.
My rule of thumb is this… If I use training supplements, I make sure my doc knows what I’m using in case something goes sideways on me. He ■■■■■■■ about it, and then I point out that if I took all of their advice, I would have weighed 400 lbs and been dead a decade back. Which is the truth, actually. (Talking about physicians and my heart condition, not head meds.)

Lol I take 3 scoops of C4. Other workout nuts take a lot too. C4 is actually one of the weakest ones. I used to take NOXPLODE before I got on meds but it made me ■■■■ crazy, like coked out feeling. I doubt it would now that I am on three sedating medications.
Today I did sets of 10 one arm dumbbell rows with a 90lb dumbbell. When I was a powerlifter I deadlifted 505lb 6 times with a trap bar.
Powerlifting is bad for you, dont do it. In my opinion it made me a little less sane and less stable…I was moody and had energy levels go up and down
I need to pack some muscle back on to help with fat maintenance and overall conditioning. No interest in powerlifting whatsoever. I tried NOXPLODE once. Holy. Crap. That stuff is too strong.

Watch the movie on Youtube: “Making A Killing: The Untold Story Of Psychotropic Drugging” …
This movie will change your life. It is an eye opening best documentary ever done on the topic of psychotropic drugs in my opinion.
Eliabeth Warren Democrat & Sherrod Brown Democrat are trying to raise the $2,000 asset limit to $10,000 for people receiving SSI & SSDI. People feel it unfair they can’t save their money over $2,000 since if you have over $2,000 in your checking or savings or in a retirement account the Social Security Administration will cut your benefits. This is not right! That is why I authored a petition on Change.org titled: "Social Security Administration Raise The 2k Asset Limit For Disabled Recipients.
