How can I not go to court?

My court date is 7th… i dont want to go

I don’t think there is any way around it Crystal. It is required that you go.

Why is that? 1515

Because you have to face the consequences of the threat you made. That’s just the way the world works. It sounds like you are just going to get off with a fine, so you should be happy about that.

I know but im scared of the court

You like your lawyer. She will be there with you and I imagine that she will do most of the talking.

I hope so… otherwise im gonna escape

Try not to worry about it - what’s done is done. No one likes going to court other than lawyers. Just be honest with them. I think Bowens is probably right too.

What if i dont go to court

You should aim to come out of this by doing teamwork with the authorities and move on.

That could make things worse. If you don’t show up and the prosecutor has a good case they could rule against you.

Don’t look as court as scary, look at it as your chance to explain yourself. If you have a good explanation/defence the court may be lenient with you.

I’m the accused one so i will lose it anyways

Yeah, but if you have a good explanation they may be lenient on you like I said.

I had a ticket for smoking where I wasn’t suppose to be smoking, but I took it to court and explained there wasn’t a no smoking sign near where I was smoking and they dropped the ticket from $110 down to $60. You never know what will happen, but if I didn’t fight it I would have had to pay the $110.

I dont have a good explanation

You’ve been diagnosed with a mental disorder, the court will probably take that into consideration. if you are truly regretful and remorseful then they may take that into consideration too. You are catastrophizing, you don’t know what will happen.

Sure you do. You were in psychosis and didn’t know what you were doing.

Was i psychotic then?

Just tell the judge that you are remorseful and realize that it was a bad thing to do now and that you will not do something like that again.

It’ll look way worse if you dont turn up. They are more likely to go easy on you if you have the respect to turn up and play along with the legal system. Not showing up shows you don’t respect the law or the time of the judge. Could also be an additional crime not to show up when summoned. So defo make sure you go. It’ll be much worse otherwise.
