How can I get rid of spam in my inbox? (gmail)

I want to clean up my email, unsubscribe from the ones that are not important etc. But I keep getting spam mails in my inbox, is there a way I can tell gmail these are spam?

Maybe the best would be to create a new email and just update my mail on the sites that are important…hmm

I have the option to mark a mail as spam and that way if the sender sends a new email it goes to the spam box.

There’s an option “move to spam”, will this tell gmail to put all from the sender in spam in future?

One trick I learned to keep your inbox clear is to route all subscriptions to a folder.

To do this search “unsubscribe” in the search bar on Gmail. Then select all the emails and in the options route them to a folder. Then your main inbox stays clear.

Open a spam email and scroll to the bottom. there should be a link somewhere labeled unsubscribe. that will either unsubscribe you via direct confirmation or else take you to the site where you can unsubscribe

I never click anything in spam emails, could be malicious.

@POET that’s a neat trick!
