My pdoc finally prescribed it, but he said he wants to start me at 21 mgs. Hopefully I’ll be able to pick it up from the pharmacy later today. Will post results.
I’m on caplyta and it’s by far the best med I’ve ever tried. I’ve tried probably a dozen or more and nothing has ever really worked very well until this one. Not really any noticeable side effects for me either which is nice. I hope it works for you.
This is awesome and I’m happy for you, hoping it works just as well for me!
I’m on caplyta at 42mg, and I can say its a great med for negative symptoms, but as far as managing psychotic symptoms, I do need 20mg of haldol. But overall, no side effects, and good at treating negative symptoms, so I’d rank it a 7 out of 10.
Happy to hear! Do you take the haldol and Caplyta at different times?
I take 5mg of haldol in the morning, but take the rest and my caplyta at night.
What does the difference feel like? Do you have more motivation? Energy? Are you more productive?
I definitely have more motivation to do things. Negative synonyms in general are a lot less limiting. They’re are still good and bad days, but on average I feel a lot more normal. And psychotic symptoms are way more controlled than ever before. I still have auditory hallucinations most days. Nothing ever seems to be enough to get rid of those. But delusional thinking and paranoia are super rare now.
Sounds great, really happy to hear you’re feeling well. Super pumped now to get my meds
Hope it works out for you
Thank you! 151515
Yes sometimes those atypical like Calypta works wonders on the negatives and if you don’t get sufficient response on the positives then adding another 1 Gen or 2. Gen for the positives is always a good idea.
Update: took my first pill last night, didn’t get too much sleep but I do feel pretty good today. Not sure if it’s slight mania, or lack of side effects from not taking my previous med. Time will tell, will update again.
Goodnto know, i want to try caplyta cause its a weaker antipsychotic so i imagine it would have less side effects.
Thanks for keeping us updated.
How are you doing with caplyta, feeling better?
Thank you for asking…
Feeling pretty good with the Caplyta, pretty much no side effects whatsoever, the quality of my sleep is a little better, but not really feeling my negative symptoms gone yet. Still feel lazy and demotivated. I’ve only been on the med for about a week I think so hopefully there will be more improvements!
I am very interestted in knowing how you are doing in regards to your negative symptoms as I would like to swap Seroquel with the meds of yours if it made it possible to regaining some of my academic abilities.
Caplyta significantly improved my negative symptoms. I’m able to go to work now and not feel anxious, shaky, or tired all day. It’s a huge improvement from any of the other medicines I’ve taken.
I’ve been one of the more dominant personalities on this forum and it’s better to say to little than to much so well I’ve decided to keep quite most of the time. But I just felt like responding to your review of Calypta. What you told us about your Super response to Calypta in regards to the negative symptoms convinced me that it is worthwhile trying when it has gotten approval in the EU. I’m one of the unlucky victims of many negative and cognitive symptoms and although that it’s very expansive that doesn’t matter because we’ve got public health care in my country.
