Homelessness options

I might be homeless within a month and i cant survive in that situation. There was too conflict in my home. I am in south carolina (usa) and was wondering what my options were to have plans ready? Theres no chance of working things out, i was physically threatened so i reacted the same.

I was in a similar position years ago

Ended up forcing myself back into work as that was the only thing I could do to extract myself from the situation

Not sure whether you have any places where you are that can help

As for sleeping homeless I have some advice.

Emergency bivies:

Long underwear

Sleep in the doorway of a store with an overhang on a street that is busy during the day. Safest dryest option.

You also may look into hostels:
This one in Myrtle Beach is nice

Are you on social security? Do you have income?

I don’t know if I’m thinking of the right person, but are you the man who has been having problems with your family because you’re gay? If so, I’m sorry to hear that you might be homeless soon.

Here are some resources that you may want to look into:

[In South Carolina, gay men experiencing homelessness can find assistance through organizations like Transitions Homeless Center, which provides housing and services. Additionally, Harriet Hancock LGBT Center and We Are Family offer support and resources for the LGBTQ+ community, including those facing homelessness. The 211 resource line can also connect individuals with local resources. ]

Yes and that was the main issue. Thankfully it was just a threat to frighten me and im no longer at risk for homelessness

Thanks to everyone who gave advice in this thread, it may still be relevant to hold on to in the future

I watched the video. It was good. This guy was like save up your money maybe get 2 jobs to save up for a sink cost poverty scheme voluntarily. Yikes. No pay too. He’s just living off savings. This is like Harold and Kumar go to White Castle but with an RV. It sounds like he’s just doing a 3 month excursion. He gave up his house. Man he’s got a taste for adventure. I admire anyone with balls to do this but it’s one step forward and two steps back. I’m against voluntary poverty. If you’re a victim of circumstance and you’re poor you might not be able to help it, so all you can do is make the best out of a bad situation like top ramen every night for dinner. Now I’m cheap. I try to live poorer than my means because I have a house and I prefer peace of mind over mindless consuming and being left broke and in debt. I just paid off my student loans. Debt is hell. This is a good story to tell your grandkids one day. If that RV breaks he’s up a creek without a paddle. In the middle of nowhere with no money? I grew up really poor I had no safety net and no room for failure. He said it though worst case scenario lose it all, rv breaks, run out of money, get robbed. He’s got a support system if this whole thing tanks. I would rather invest all the money saved for this trip into an aggressive money making retirement portfolio and buy a virtual reality headset and travel the world in a simulation. Good things.

Kevin is already making enough off of his social media and Internet patrons to make ends meet, but he’s not getting rich. He’s local to me (when he’s scootches through my part of Alberta) and we’ve had coffee.

His worry is his rig coughing out an engine or tranny. Those are the big expenses.
