I bought an EEG reader from NeuroSky two years ago. I’ve been reading them off and on for the last few years. I have found when I’m hearing voices in my mined or I get the strong sensation that my body is not being in control of my own and my cognitive thinking is not doing right. I get a very high reading in my brain waves that show as extremely unusual wave pattern. By comparing my brain waves with someone who lives with me that doesn’t have any brain problems. My brain waves look like I’m having some kind of brain damage readings, mine are all over the place. When I took my readings 2 years ago I had a professional EEG done over a year and half ago they looked normal. Both mine and the person I read with my EEG reader looked normal at the time 2 years ago. I also had a MRI done around the same time and it looked in very good condition. I’m going to set an appointment to see my doctor and ask if I could have another EEG done and a MRI also. I just hope they will have this done for me again.
Find those brainwaves! Ask em what their problem is!
oh thank gawd. another non-believer like myself! where ya been?
I ve been saying a while that hallucinations are only malfunctioning cells on a chemical and/or electrical level.
yours might be electrical then (siezure related???) if they are very different.
however before you go to the doctor with your graphs, try it again on your friend. yet this time while he is listening to tv or music (not via earphones). See if changes for him.
My point is that even though you were hallucinating, you were listening to something.
If it does not change for him, then it is certainly worth checking out.
This reminds me of the Scientology episode of South Park with Stan and his thetan levels.
When I asked my roommate to use the EEG reader they had been using the computer at the time during the reading.
Here’s the qEEG thread:
lol.
That’s very interesting, maybe it is epilepsy rather than true sz! Who knows.
My EEG was also weird but it was slower fluctuations than normal when I was having my visual hallucinations, suggesting my brain was entering a sleep state, which supports my doctor’s hypothesis that my hallucinations may be due to my sleep disorder rather than my psychosis.
