Hi I'm back

I’ve not been on the forum for over 5 months now because I got alot worse. I finally have a psychologist that is really nice to me which is great but I have still not been diagnosed with anything for the full time I have been getting help which is nearly a year but I think that’s because of my age.

Hey, welcome back! Are you seeing a psychiatrist as well?

Yes I see a psychiatrist every couple of weeks but she doesnt really listen to me and wont put me on any medication

That’s awful, has she told you why she won’t put you on meds? :frowning:
My advice would be to switch psychiatrists, to one that will give you (atleast) antipsychotics

She doesnt think I’m psychotic for some reason even though I have auditory and visual hallucinations pretty much all day every day for over a year now and I get delusions sometimes. I was on quetiapine in march which my first psychiatrist prescribed me and it helped a bit but I didnt really believe there was anything wrong with me then so I stopped taking it. I wish I could change psychiatrist but I like in scotland and I’m under a child and adolescent mental health service so I cant change psychiatrist.

I’m so sorry you’re not doing well. Hopefully your docs can get things sorted for you soon.

They have told me a number of times they have never had a patient like me before I think that’s because I’m in the child services as I’m only 16. I am absolutely terrified.

I’m sorry you’re terrified. It’s understandable. Just keep going to the psychologist and being as open as you can be and things will get better in time. I wish you could get a different pdoc, one that would listen.

My old psychiatrist though I had schizophrenia and said that to my mum but because of my age she didnt want to diagnose me because it’s a scary world to live in when you have schizophrenia especially where I live. I am more aware now and that’s why my new psychiatrist doesnt think I am.
