Hi @Chess24, was wondering if you can talk about the intrusive thoughts you go through? Sorry to put you on the spot, I feel like my intrusive thoughts are my main problem too.
The main problems are these:
Cognitive dysfunction, sleep related issues and intrusive thoughts.
These are my main problems.
Regarding intrusive thoughts, they just prevent me from living in peace.
My preference is to study at a religious institution,
and my schizophrenia prevents me from doing it.
Schizophrenia also prevents me from working, and studying anything, and reading and watching things.
I have intrusive thoughts , yes.
I can say that my intrusive thoughts went better on olanzapine(the reason I started olanzapine is because of overwhelming
intrusive thoughts).
yes, intrusive thoughts are very bad.
I am tapering off olanzapine now, and hope to survive the storm of intrusive thoughts.
I want to say that certain impairment in functioning and cognition were present, in my case, since early childhood.
Mine prevent me from living in peace too. What are your intrusive thoughts about if I may ask? Mine are about everything sometimes also I have no privacy I want to turn to God but these thoughts prevent me to.
@see121 the worst thing about intrusive thoughts is that they prevent you
from living in peace.
Schizophrenia has already forced me to give up on any life plans I may have had.
But even just passing away the time is difficult when you have intrusive thoughts.
In the past I had intrusive thoughts that I had to move abroad and abroad I would somehow get cured or do better.
That’s utter rubbish but the intrusive thoughts took over me and I was desperate to go to the airport.
Now my main intrusive thought is that I don’t want to live.
It is very difficult to live this way, with this thought always lurking in your mind.
My intrusive thoughts is that I want to live but someone is preventing me from living. People are upset at me thinking I’m thinking all these obscene and sacrilegious thoughts and threaten me often. I don’t know what to do.
@see121 if people are upset at you, try to explain that these thoughts are against your will.
That you have trouble controlling your thoughts.
Ok I will try. 1515
I’m on 15mg olanzapine and has your doctor suggested tapering, or is this some element of self denial about their use and effectiveness?
@JH85 the truth is, that I am attempting a treatment course based on herbal medicine.
This treatment course includes quitting olanzapine.
That’s the reason I quit.
No herbal medicine can treat schizophrenia.
@Chess24 , I don’t want to be this forward, but I’d advise against herbal medicine. I’ve gone down the road of alternative medicine, homeopathy, herbal remedies, etc… The truth as I’ve come to understand it, is that the people selling these substances rarely know what they’re selling, and are just trying to cash in with a load of junk science and silly claims.
I just don’t want you to learn the hard way that this has been a bad idea. Wishing you luck either way.
You know that psychotic episodes cause brain damage and there’s no guarantee that the olanzapine will be as effective a second time around!
Also if there was a herbal remedy for sz, it would be reverse engineered and patented to make some company billions. So I can safely say no effective herbal remedies exist atm.
If you got herbal remedies that cure sz your sitting on a goldmine. You will become a millionaire and be fabulously wealthy. You will probably be on tv and doctors around the world will congratulate you on curing one of the most difficult mental disorders of all time. You have a very bright future ahead. There is so much to be excited about
If you really have, that work?
I think my brain just short circuited. I really have a nasty place in my heart for people that prey on the weakness and hopes of people for profit. I myself was once convinced by a gypsy psychic to give a lot of money. At the end of our “work” together I asked why did I do it. And she said because your ill. That was the last time I ever spoke to her. It’s all a con game with placebo treatments. Makes me sick
Hi Chess24, You said you went to the airport thinking things might be better than Israel maybe in the US, I don’t know if things are better here, but you can always try to visit here if you like. Hope things are well with you.
For a while @Chess24, I did scalp acupuncture, I had needles on my head. It’s supposed to treat schizophrenia but I don’t know if this worked? This was before I suffered from intrusive thoughts. I felt it was good for blood circulation. I had this done in San Jose, California by the way.
I’ve been taking herbal medicine and regular medication.
I think that the world travel is a kind of an adventure, or that how it was when I was young, I wanted to see different places and experience different cultures, but now I am happy I am living in Eastern Finland and I have no motivation to travel except to visit some neighbouring cities. I wish you all well and that you find happiness wherever you are. My 13-year stay in America was an adventure while I traveled also in many other places.
I agree with @mjseu you can still travel if you want to in the near future or when you are able to. So not to rule out you wanting to go to the US. I’ve traveled abroad before and found it really enjoyable.
