From what I hear, in the diagnostic book of mental illnesses, they don’t separate the different sub-types of schizophrenia anymore. All “schizophrenia’s” will be lumped together.

But that said, it used to say that the paranoid sub-type of schizophrenia, while listed as the most serious form, people with it actually function better than other sub-types. We tend to fare better vocationally, living independently and a couple of other things.
