We get procyclidine in the uk. I don’t think it’s available in the states. But my akathisia is a lot better now thank goodness
Good to hear! It sounded like you were going crazy with the akithisia. Glad things are better for you.
@anon94176359 That’s good news.
I take Cogentin too. Works really well for me too, but, I take it for coarse tremors. I’m glad for you, @anon94176359.
Good to hear…
Thanks for the kind messages folks and thanks for the support over the last few days
do you still have akathisia?
A combination of procyclidine and pregabalin totally helps
Glad your doing better @Jimbobemphasized text
Thanks @Wave! !
That’s awesome! Is it an antihistamine? Cogentin is an antihistamine and I can’t take it because of that. So my akathisia gets really bad and I can’t really do anything about it. I use a lot of magnesium lotions. They do help some.
No it’s not an antihistamine. Not sure what class it is. I do know sometimes people with Parkinson’s take it. Ask your doc about it. Akathisia is the worst man and you shouldn’t have to put up with it
I think it might be available in the US
Interesting. I was on cogentin for awhile and it made my muscles feel like jelly lol
Went off it on my own and th akathesia didnt come back as strong. Might ask for that now that Im in Europe. Didnt know there were any alternatives besides propranolol
The brand name is kemedrin
I don’t know if it’s worth trying. Cogentin KILLED me. It made everything a million times worse for like 3 days and I almost killed myself. It was awful. Seems like it might be related to antihistamines.
Oh that sucks man. I think procyclidine May be similar to cogentin. With your autonomic stuff can you take beta blockers Like propranolol ?
Nope. I tried and couldn’t stay conscious. Dropped my bp like whoa.
Not sure if you are allowed gabapentin/pregabalin but they really helped my akathisia
Gabapentin helped some, but it causes some memory problems and I didn’t like that side effect. Didn’t seem worth it.
