My sister had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and nothing seems to be working. We’ve tried many medications as well as therapy. Therapy never goes well because she doesn’t seem to be able to speak. She is 19 years old. The episodes started 2 years ago and only seemed to last for a month or 2 originally, but now it’s been 6 months of a very bad state. Majority of her day is spent with her eyes closed almost in a sleep/fainted state, and when she awakens she mumbles something that I’m unsure of what she says. She’s the most innocent girl one could ever meet, and has always out other first before her. A couple times she’s said that she goes off to another place when she faints/passes out. Her body is very rigid when this happens and it takes awhile for her to actually awaken. Once she does she’s quite and says very little. She doesn’t recognize anyone in my family, says we are not her family. Please help, any advice works I want to do anything and everything to help my sister she means the world to me
She is unable to to post on here so I’m trying to get a perspective from ppl who have maybe had this problem
The doctors didn’t find the correct meds to cure your sister?you need to post on the family section of this forum.
We’ve tried about 10 different ones and combinations, nothing seems to work

I think you need to be upfront with her medical team about your frustrations that you write of here with her medical condition not getting any better.
don’t let things slip and slide – try to advocate for her and be on top of things for her.
just my thoughts. hope this helps.

I’ve been very upfront l, the issue is all her vitals are fine and we are able to force feed her and give her water. I was just wondering if maybe part of the diagnosis of schizophrenia was off and maybe there are other factors at hand. Just really trying to find someone that’s experienced something similar to this. It’s very frustrating, I know depersonalization is part of the issue, but how can therapy help when she is unable to communicate with therapist for whatever reason. I would literally give up my perfect health and anything and everything just to see her back to my cheerful loving sister
Now I do hold a strong(spiritual) belief that we have more so of higher power parents. Like extraterrestrial …it’s deep…
When I wake up I can’t really recognize my people or things if I’m half sleep. Like I’ll feel totally confused and still in between different realms.
They tie personal /spiritual beliefs and experiences to schizophrenia…
So is fluoride in her diet?
Decalcifying the pineal gland helps in many ways as well as the pituitary.
From there is meeting on the astral plane for astral therapy.
Ok so did Everything you describe Just started with the episodes. Was she able to recognize people before the episodes?when she sleeps you should practice lucid dreams…
Can you communicate with her?
It’s maybe a solid hour all day of communicating. It originally was episodes for a month or two, but that’s last 6 months have been this constant state
Does she have narcolepsy
Not at all, always been a normal sleeper
When did it start.
Was this always a condition in her early days?
It didn’t start till about puberty and she started late around 16
Prior to puberty was she taking any psych meds . Any traumatic events ?
Was she living an active lifestyle
I think you’re doing the right thing by finding out all you can about her illness. Keep searching until you find someone who can give you satisfactory answers. You might check out some of the literature on the internet and in other places on problems like hers. In the meantime, talk to her as much as you’re able. Get her to tell you what is going on with her, if you can. Don’t rule out physical causes. Maybe it’s a neurological problem.
Prior to puberty there was no traumatic events. She’s always been quite, she was held back in kindergarten and has been a little slow academically but nothing crazy. She’s never had too many friends. Most of her time has been spent with family and a few friends. Prior to puberty she wasn’t taking and psych meds the only thing she ever took was a drug similar to adderal
I remember reading about catatonic schizophrenia. Maybe you should too.
Here’s one link
I really want to help but it’s so many different factors that can weigh out the best advice…
From environmental elements to genetics…
Any family members with a history of the symptoms you previously described?
No family history of mental issues unfortunately which make it very hard to link. She’s very impressionable and very innocent, idk how high school was for her but because she never had too many friends growing up and was so innocent I’m afraid with the way kids are now a days she may have been exposed to some things that may have triggered it possibly
