Help me understand

I cant find the stillness in my head to read a book, they seem like they are to complex for me and every sentence is long and requires focus
Also the books are tangled and I can’t understand them

Am I doing something wrong?

I can’t comprehend what I’m reading either. Even half the posts on the site I have to read several times to be able to understand.

Something is wrong but I don’t know what, I hope I’m not stupid

I can’t read books anymore, either. I lack the focus. I usually have to skip over long posts on here, even though I sometimes write long posts myself.

Is it the meds? Or the MI?
I can’t be that stupid to don’t understand a book

How the hell am I supposed to learn and grow as a person if I can’t read anymore?

First I wasn’t in the right mindset to read
For a few days I am but can’t understand a thing
Am I really that damage?

■■■■ it, little insecurities come out and play with my head tonight

I have been having trouble reading stories or books. This bothers me a lot because I have been an avid reader my entire life. Just recently I can’t sit and read or make sense of the story. Long posts not broken into paragraphs well are impenetrable walls of text to me.

It’s probably more of the illness. I can only read books that strongly hold my attention, and that are fairly short. 250 to 300 pages at the most.

I have trouble with reading books.
I can’t focus really.

Maybe I’ll try it out again and order a short interesting book online.

Have you ever tried audiobooks?

I read at night before i go to sleep but it takes me a while to get through a book. Usually i have to go back and re-read parts that didn’t register for whatever reason. Sometimes i lose focus and just put the book down and leave it til the next day. It can be tough.

I can still read now. I’ve been a voracious bookworm all of my life from the time I was a year old (so my mother said). There was only one time in my life where I didn’t have the concentration to read and that was when I was manic.

It takes me quite a while to get through a book. Especially the 500 page book I’m reading now, a biography of Beethoven. It’s a very musically technical book but I can still read it.

I am happy that I read this topic. I thought I was the only one who couldn’t read anymore. I used to love to read.

I used to read 3 books a week or more. Now I can’t read more.than a paragraph. Now I listen to audible books. Very satisfying.

I’m sorry are you referring to me @anon94176359?

I find., That under most usual circumstances i don’t feel the desire to be locked in that kind of circus. Where the author is the puppetmaster leading my thoughts to where he or she wants to take me.

Not paranoid by the way!.

I’m unusual in that I can’t focus on audiobooks, at all. I need to be able to read the words myself. I can read up to three or four books at once, which I am doing now. My poor concentration with audio books may be due to my bad hearing sense.

I am glad I can read books again, on and off, during the years. I couldn’t read cause I wasn’t able to settle my thoughts, but i read little stories like the news. Sometimes I find to take distance from all that academic input and do easy stuff like watching cartoons.
