Well. In the context. I was replying to Malvok’s remark about how I said visual halucinations were cool. And it means that I’m not going to NOT think halucinations are cool just because the majority of people think they’re not. And I’m certainly not going to be sad about it… And if anyone ever noticed it’s like a great deal of people expect and almost want you to be unhappy because you’re not working, and I’m not going to be or act sad to accomidate such people… and thus I was also implying that I’m not going to struggle and try to get all better or become some form of ā€œbetterā€ person to simply please society or conform to our wonderful modern american culture… as it would SEEM that most people get caught up doing wether they are Schizophrenic or not simply because they feel that it is the ā€œrightā€ thing to do and without asking why there is this social pressure. i.e. If I want to sit in the corner and talk to the wall all day, I’m going to do just that and I don’t care if anyway says it’s wrong or ā€œbadā€. And this is especially true becuase the idea of constantly trying to get better as a schizophrenic is an internal conflict itself. Its just like the more and more you try to fall asleep the longer you’re going to stay awake.

lol if I made your head spin

i think i know what you mean, is it like getting better without even trying as if you could just get better without thinking about it and without having people tell you what to do?

Then why are you here at a site devoted to recovery?

YES! that’s exactly what I mean! With this sort of illness you simply have to let go of ā€œtrying to get a handle on itā€ and then you will experience actual life… Instead of constantly struggling with these intangable delusions and voices… or whatever… that don’t actually exist. If you end up trying to fix it, you’re just going to get locked into a battle that doesn’t really exist… especially since schizophrenia is based on environmental stimulus. Like for instance if you’re having halucinations in a suburban park it’s not nearly going to be the same as one in say… war-torn afghanistan. hmm… it’s really complicated and there’s far too many variables to really put it into words here… but thats pretty much what I’m saying. And again that may apply to certain people that don’t enjoy listening to other ppls bs advice that doesn’t even work… because if you enjoy trying to get better, then it will be a positive experience for you… etc… hmm…

I once began visually hallucinating the dead invading my home. I became scared and started to fight what wasn’t there. Its awful, plain awful.

I never read that this was a site devoted to recovery. And I also didn’t know recovery existed. I’m just here to talk to other people with schizophrenia… simply because I enjoy conversation and to be with people that have the same affliction. I’m probably gonna leave though, if you people all believe that…garbage… then you’re just chasing the wind.

so you think people can get better naturally without drugs just as long as they don’t think about it?

Once when I was living in a sketch neighborhood it was around a midnight and sz man came to our door and said that people had invaded his home. My dad being the good man he is, followed him back to make sure he was alright. He then proceeded to watch the sz man attack the bathroom door. the sz man’s mother came out of her bedroom holding a shotgun and thankfully did not shoot my dad on sight.
little did my family know, but that’s around the time when my inside voices first appeared. I really sympathized.

Maybe this is the site you need. Check out the main page, lots of good information there.

I believe it, as do many. It’s possible.

oh ok ok .
tht freaked me out haha.

When I was a mod there was a guy with a really offensive username. I didn’t know then that usernames could be changed so I had him create a new account. Later, I saw that changing a username was possible.
