Health is excellent (blood tests)

On Friday, my colleagues convinced me to do a full blood test — everything from general blood work and cholesterol to cancer markers, thyroid function, and vitamin levels in the blood.

Everything came back perfect… not a single bad marker out of about 30 on the chart :joy: Only ferritin was slightly on the lower side, but still within the normal range. I showed the results to a doctor who was working today, and his reaction was quite cheerful: “No deficiencies… just enjoy it!”

Since I usually feel tired — and the reason is simply eating too little — that’s easy to fix. I just feel like thanking myself, my body, and my lifestyle. It’s a wonderful feeling to be healthy.

It turns out that even at my age, all the indicators are perfect — which is quite rare.

And there’s no secret — I even smoke, though of course, that’s my only addiction.

Whether I should thank my genes or if I’m simply doing something better than others — I don’t know.

Even my vitamin D, which 90% of people in my country lack, is within the normal range.

Cholesterol too… wow.

Definitely. Super glad!! @zoa

So, I got “gentle” iron supplements… it turns out that my ferritin is always slightly low—a factor that can affect both fatigue and even mood swings.

I plan to do a two-month course twice a year—once in autumn (like now) and once in spring. That should be enough.

Maybe this is useful for someone else who also deals with low ferritin!

Great news @Teaclipse

It’s important to check these things out to catch issues early

In a way, it’s also reassuring! @Joker Excellent health indicators calm anyone down – I can see that at work too. Whether a person is young or old (there are few young patients in cardiology) – everyone rejoices when they find out that their situation isn’t bad.

My physical health functions perfectly, but… then other shortcomings appear. I really often feel tired for no reason – but on the other hand, I still don’t eat enough. Plus, I’m always analyzing something, and although Concerta gives me concentration while it’s active, it’s not permanent. Physically, I really seem to be doing great, but I have other nuances… if I’m not trembling because of physical issues, then it’s from anxiety.

Philosophical thoughts arise – one person is affected physically, another mentally, and another struggles with life circumstances…

I don’t know. In my country, even younger people tend to have high cholesterol, and many have a vitamin D deficiency… I don’t know how I manage to avoid that. I wouldn’t say I feel amazing either… but basically, I always recover quickly after illnesses, and just a few bites of food can make me feel different. Maybe it’s a fast metabolism and quick recovery? I’m not sure. @Sleeping

Plus, my ferritin level was tested on a cycle day when it can naturally be lower. And when I looked into what foods help raise it—well, mhm, those are exactly the ones I almost never eat… so I’ll have to make an effort.

My ‘good’ cholsterol is too high. I suppose everything in moderation, even the ‘good’ things

Congratulations on ur blood results :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

My last bloods diagnosed me with pre diabetes

Have to go on some course

They say a third of people who do this course avoid full blown diabetes

My full blood tests said I too, have high chelosterol and hypothyroidism. No matter how careful I was with my food, the blood tests always got some red marks.

And yet, the delayed test — the last one — homocysteine, revealed the truth. It’s elevated. So, smoking has finally shown its “harmlessness.” Time to quit!

Can you quit @Teaclipse ?

Hard, yes, but all addictions can be overcome. :slightly_smiling_face: And this is usually the one most people give up among all the bad habits. @zoa
