Having one of those days

I’m feeling useless, worthless, and a part of me just wants to die. I’m not going to kill myself, just one of those shitty days. Stress is getting to me. I just want to sleep to escape it, but it’s only 7:10pm, and I’m wide awake anyway.

I’ve got 9pm meds. It’s 618pm here. Do you sleep good restful sleep at all?

Yeah, I typically sleep pretty well once I get to sleep. I have occasional insomnia, but usually sleep well.

I’m sorry. It can be hard to have terrible days that make death seem like the better alternative. It’s good you have no desire to earnestly kill yourself, but it’s terrible you’re struggling all the same.

I struggle with feeling useless and worthless a lot. It can be hard to restructure the mind to find reasons one is useful and worth much. Are you seeing a therapist or anything? Someone to help you cope?

I don’t have a therapist, no. I see my psychiatrist once every two or three months and psych nurse for my injection every three weeks, but that’s about it.

Would your insurance cover it? I find therapy to be helpful for getting out of bad mindsets and developing coping mechanisms that will help when further bad times come.

I doubt my insurance would cover it. I have a Medicaid managed care plan. I’m not sure how much therapy would help.

It’s financial stress and being out of work that is getting me down right now.

If I get hired by the employer I interviewed with on Friday, and somehow find a way to pay August rent (such as my unemployment claim being approved), then I think I will be ok.

It’s a helpless feeling knowing both of those things are out of my hands at this point.

Oh, I see. Financial stress is definitely difficult. :frowning: I’m there right now. I have credit card bills to pay and no money to pay them.

That’s so sad :disappointed: it takes a lot less for me to feel that way than you. I hope you get that job and can pay rent.
