It’s my first night back to work at the gas station. It’s doing a number on my nerves. I’m more than halfway through it at this point, 5 hrs down and 4 hrs to go. I had a very sweet friend texting with for a while, but it’s late and she needed to sleep.

Yeah, it’s been quite busy. It’s not quite as busy as it was at first, but still I wish it would slow down more. Still getting rushes of business

I feel that. I always asked myself where everyone was coming from when I got busy at work late at night. 
What are your other responsibilities there besides tending to customers’ needs? At my old gas station workplace, the night crew for the gas station side had to mop the floor of the store part in its entirety (the restaurant parts were mopped by the workers at those parts), reboot the registers, and uhh… be at the beck and call of people desperately needing pizzas at 3 am, lol. I’m sure there was a lot more to it but I’m forgetful. 
Yeah, I’m supposed to mop the floor and do some other cleaning, as well as refill cups, lids, etc, take out trash as needed. Idk how much of that I’ll get done, though.

Ah yes! They also had to do that stuff. To me, it seemed like an awful lot to expect out of just one person (cashier shift overlap only happened during the day).
Mad respect for cashiers. Y’all put up with a lot.

Hmm, I know a pro to that at my gas station was the night crew not really having to interact since they all hated each other, lol. There was way too much drama at that place.

I wish I had a coworker here with me.
The late night crowd is mostly gone now; it’s more the morning crowd now, people stopping in on their way to work. Totally different crowds. I’d much rather deal with the morning crowd.
I’m guessing most morning crowd people get coffee. 
We actually sell a lot more energy drinks than we do coffee. Our coffee is okay, but not great.

Oooh. I have to say the coffee at my old job was pretty good… when it was fresh. Do you guys sell a lot of those java monsters? I liked those back when I drank energy drinks.
No, not really, but we do sell a lot of the regular kinds of Monster, as well as Red Bull and Rip It.

People don’t know what they’re missing out on! Haha. I don’t know what I’m missing out either, though, to be fair, since I’ve never tried any of those.
I guess it’s about time I started trying to sleep. I hope you have a smooth and calm last few hours of your shift.
