Have you got any stories about parking your car and not being able to find it later?

The only time I did it as a teen was when I drove me and my friend up to Oakland to see The Rolling Stones. Was at the concert for five hours then came out and had no idea where I parked. There was 60,000 people at the concert so I can be excused for not finding my car among 15,000 or 16,000 other cars.

That was a long time ago, like in 1978. I didn’t drive from 1990-97. I didn’t have a car again until 1997 when I bought a Toyota. It was an OK car, it was an 86 red stick shift. For some reason I kept going various places and forgetting where I parked.

One time I went inside this huge mall and forgot where I parked when I came out. I walked up and down all the aisles for about half an hour and couldn’t find my car. Finally, I saw mall security driving around and told them my story and they drove around and finally found it for me.

Another time I was at a shopping center and couldn’t find my car in the parking lot. This time I called my stepdad and he drove over and looked for it and found it. I gotta say, it’s the worst feeling to be somewhere and realize you can’t find your car.

I did it a few more times after that with that car. I had 3 cars after those incidents and never lost my car. I did it a couple times with my current car at the library for some reason.

I’ve forgotten so many times I now always park in the row of the door, no matter how far back I have to go.

If I can’t park in that row, I put a reminder of my location in the notes section of my phone

I almost got lost in downtown Austin. There are parking garages everywhere

I just sent the parking location to self. In WhatsApp I was definitely sure I won’t be able to find it.

Because one unfamiliar place and all turns looked similar

You know you’re getting old when the term ‘Getting Lucky’ means finding your car at the grocery store.
