Have you ever met anybody famous?

I met somebody semi famous and he has a couple of songs on Spotify, we met in a bar in Sri Lanka and we had a few beers together, we’re now friends on Facebook and he’s a song writer/singer. So if he gets really famous that would be cool, although his songs are shite at the moment.

No but my dad met Kiefer Sutherland when I was a little kid. He walked into little ceasars where he worked (don’t wanna say state/city for annominity) and my dad got an autograph.

I met an author named “Kate Millet” in a bookstore. She was prominent in feminist literature. I saw her on William Buckley’s “Firing Line” a few weeks after I met her in that bookstore. She was a nice person.

When I was working at the hot tub joint in 1986, Joan Baez walked in one day.

When I was 13 a friend of the family took us to see Vincent Price give a talk at a college. Afterwards he appeared in the library to talk and meet people. I was standing right next to him but I was too shy to say anything.

There’s a famous Christian rock artist whose parents were friends with my parents. One time the artist was visiting home and he gave us an impromptu concert in his parents living room. He was a funny, charismatic guy, he was nominated for a Grammy award for a duet he did with Amy Grant, who was the most famous Christian rock artist of the 1970’s. He lost, but if he would have won it would shot his career up to being a famous star. My family watched the Grammy’s that year and he was sitting in the front row on TV with Amy Grant. I don’t want to say his name but he was relatively famous in the 1970’s and 80’s.

In 1980, the year the U.S. boycotted the Russian Olympics I met the two American shot put stars who were supposed to win gold medals. The female was renting a house from a guy who I was doing some yard work for and the male shot put star was visiting. They were both well known locally. They were physically huge by the way, the biggest man and woman I have ever met.

My mom was friends with a famous writer, a poet and novelist named James Dickey and I played guitar for him. He was the author of DELIVERANCE, a movie most people know.

Once I was in the air and space museum in Washington DC and saw George Kennedy, a famous actor. He was buying lunch in the cafeteria and when they told him how much the can of beer cost he sent it back.

I was misgendered by Willie from the Irish Rovers at age five when my gran took me to one of their concerts. I can trace every bad thing in my life back to that moment.

Me and a friend played a pick up game with M. Jordan and friend in North Carolina 30 years ago. We never scored a bucket, but it was fun.

Comedians. I like comedy shows, so I’ve met a few. Otherwise, no. When we go to music concerts, I stay the heck away when everyone starts rushing the stage after. And I don’t think famous people live near me. Even if I saw someone, it admittedly wouldn’t mean much to me. They have a more public job, but they’re just people. I don’t get the hero worship stuff.

I met John Taylor and Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran and got their autograph!
