Have you ever met a celebrity?

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I’ve met Mitt Romney a few times, once he went to my church while he was holding caucus or lecture, I don’t remember. My dad has talked with him about mainly economical policy many times. I’ve also met some Iowa Hawkeyes players, but I don’t know if I’ll count that.

In 1980 I met two Olympic athlete hopefuls. It was a man and a woman and they were both expected to win Gold in the shot put. Unfortunately, Jimmy Carter had the United States boycott the Olympics that year in protest of the Russians invading Afghanistan. These shot-putters were huge, the biggest man and woman I ever met in person.

Amazingly nice, very welcoming and funny.

I would never of guessed at his major depression issues. He hid them well, sadly.

I also met up with him a few years later at an AA meeting in the San Francisco Bay Area.
